The 20 hectare Hugo vineyard is one of the most eastern in the McLaren Vale region, sitting 180 - 200 metres above sea level.

This elevated position brings markedly cooler conditions, ideal for premium grape growing – resulting in fine, well-balanced textural whites and elegant reds that reflect the unique character of the site.

Winemaking

Renae Hirsch
oversees Hugo’s winemaking and her process is driven by curiosity about what our site offers and how we can best translate that into the bottle across seasons.

Style & Technique

All of our wines are made with a light hand, integrating some subtle processes to underscore the structure and flavour already present in our fruit including but not limited to, whole bunch fermentation, skin contact and the use of old oak.
